Open Stitching: We have Open Stitching every day ... just come! It is unstructured, but that is the idea.
Every attempt is made to keep the cost of our classes/events reasonable. This is done with the understanding that class supplies are purchased at Village Needlework.
Click here to view our printable May and June 2007 calendars.
Note: The printed calendars reflect meetings for the Cedar Valley Chapter of the Embroiderers Guild and for the Smockers Guild of America. More information about these Guilds and their meetings is available upon request. Join us!

BOBBIN LACE - INTRODUCTION
Leader: Anita Hansen
REGISTRATION OPEN NOW!
We are putting together yet another Bobbin Lace class. If you are interested, register today!
The date(s) for this class will be coordinated with those that register and our instructor.
Purpose: Handmade lace is becoming popular once again. Bobbin Lace, probably a term you recognize, is one such type of lace. If you ever wondered how to make sense of all those bobbins, here is your chance! It may look confusing but it can be very simple.
Learn the basic stitches to create a sampler bookmark. Techniques include: cloth stitch, whole stitch, half stitch, Torchon ground, spider motif and how to begin and end a bookmark.
The class will meet once -- 6 hours (plus a break for lunch.)
Try your hand at this heirloom technique.
1, 6-hour session --- 10AM to 5 PM
(Bring a sack lunch or get lunch elsewhere ... up to you!)
Fee: $50 (plus supplies)
Supplies: $60 (includes 18 inch pillow, pins, thread and bobbins)
Note: Some of you may have a bobbin lace pillow and possibly bobbins. If so, the supply cost is less. Please contact Rose Mary for specifics.
